A superb ink stick, the first time I used it I accidentally used too much water. Once I got used to it the colour and consistency was unlike any ink I have ever used.
Perfect inkstick for Suminagashi. Inkstick grinds well and floats on water as it should. Ichi were so easy to deal with. True Japanese politeness and efficiency. Delighted and no complaints. Will use them again and again.
Arrived Ina reasonable amount of time, and looks beautiful. I look forward to writing letters on this set.

This is the second handmade brush I have had the pleasure of ordering from Ms Chiyomi Tanaka through Keitaro from Ichi inc., Japan.
Ms Chiyomi is one of the last few master brush makers in Nara, the spiritual home of the Japanese art of Shodo. I recommend watching the YouTube video interview of Ms Chiyomi and her brush-making process.
I find that with using a brush like this, the artwork carries the spirit of both me and the artist who made the brush, making it doubly special. I am very much looking forward to buying from Ichi inc. again!
A lovely larger-sized pure wool calligraphy brush which allows a far greater range of expression than more rigid beginner’s brushes. I am glad to have a piece of excellent craftsmanship from one of Nara’s last master brush-making artisans. Thanks for the fast dispatch!

The ink stick is good with wide range of black colour and is good for art work in black and white tone
I love this watercolour and it is my favourite from a set I bought. I was so delighted to find I could buy it as a single colour and also in a set of 6. I will be buying more of my favourites from the set. Professional lovely company to buy from.
My order was given a long lead time, however, the watercolors arrived well ahead of time. I’ve not seen other watercolors to match the quality of these. Overall a great online buying experience.
When used for painting or for seals, this ink has an special liveliness with its orange undertone and is almost identical to true cinnabar red.
It is odorless and fluid, you can use this ink with stamp pads as it has a good shelf life and will not dry out easily.
The ink, however, once on paper will remain smudgeable, even dry. So make sure to use a water-friendly or oil-friendly coating or protection when storing your artworks.
It is very pigmented, a small amount of ink goes a long way.
It got delivered in perfect condition with washi tape securing it closed.
The attached image of the "レア" seal was made using Kobaien’s High Quality Vermillion Red Liquid Ink ( 高級朱墨液・赤 ) with a handmade linoleum stamp.
I am very happy and honored to own this product and will buy it again when my reserve will deplete.
This ink is of amazing quality, the black has profound depth while the grey has a very subtle but elegant purple undertone. It applies smoothly and cleanly while the intensity is easy to control, it is similar in application to handmade watercolor but dries a little slower.
It got delivered in perfect condition.
This artwork I made depicting an Australian Redback spider (Latrodectus hasselti) was made using:
-Gyouun ( For quality works, 暁雲 墨汁 墨液 ) Sumi liquid ink, for the spider color and "森" black seal.
-Kobaien’s High Quality Vermillion Red Liquid Ink ( 高級朱墨液・赤 ) for the spider's pattern and "レア" red seal.
-400g cold pressed watercolor paper.
-Coliro (Finetec) watercolor in shade "Aurum" for the circle.
-SAKURA Pigma Micron fineliner 003 & 03 for details.

This ink has a WONDERFUL mystical depth and spiritual quality, whole room is radiating through that.
I ordered one of the Sunshinsenko ink sticks recently and I'm very please with it. It produces rich black ink with very little effort on a good inkstone. I like the ink, it smells wonderful, and it's even attractive to look at. It comes in a wooden box for storage. Recommended. I've included a photo of an abstract piece I did on Green Kitakata paper.
This （JUN KIN DEI TETSUBACHI ( PURE GOLD PAINT 古梅園 純金泥 鉄鉢 ) gold color is so high quality that it is mixed with HYAKUSEKI-KOUSHI INKSTICK and AKYOU SEIBOKU INKSTICK to paint the fish's head, so that the gold color can be seen faintly on the fish's head. The scales of the fish body are also mixed with SHOURAI INKSTICK (VIVID AND BEAUTIFUL BLUISH BLACK, INDIGO) to make it more natural and bright.
This product is a very good combination of traditional Japanese elegance and art. It met my expectations. Also, when I opened the cargo, I was very happy with the origami bird that I saw.
