General terms and conditions of use of our online store

1. We have contracts with artisans in Japan, including Kobaien, to sell their finest products to customers around the world at the lowest possible cost. For this reason, we do not accept refunds or cancellations for customer orders. This is because we do not include the costs of returns or cancellations in the sales price in order to keep the sales price as low as possible.
   
   
2. If an order is returned to us due to the customer refusing to accept it for reasons such as customs duties or an incorrect address, we will keep the order and resend it once we have received the shipping costs from the customer again.
   

3. If the recipient does not accept the package and it is returned to our company, we will take one of the following actions

   3-1) If the mistake is the purchaser's, such as an incorrect address or an incorrect recipient, the purchaser will pay the shipping costs again and we will reship the package from our office in Japan.

   3-2) If the mistake is our company's, such as an incorrect address,
   we will pay the shipping costs again and we will reship the package from our office in Japan. 

   The shipping costs will be discussed between the purchaser and our company in advance.

4. Purchasing and using our sales products ( inksticks, inks, etc. ) for any purpose other than its original purpose ( Calligraphy and watercolor painting on paper ) is at your own risk. Whatever happens, WE ICHI inc. AND KOBAIEN ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.
   
   
5. All customers are the importer of record in the destination country, you are responsible for: (a) paying for all import fees such as import duties and customs taxes, and (b) ensuring that Products can be lawfully imported, and comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.
   
   
6. We do not take any responsibility for delivery accidents. Customers are assumed to have understood and agreed to this before placing an order.
   
   
7. Some countries may not be able to be sent the items listed here (especially liquid ink and brushes). Please check your country's import rules when ordering. We will also check when we ship, and if we find products that we cannot ship at that time, we will cancel the entire order once we have found them. Please understand this in advance.
   
   
8. The products sold on this online store may be of a different colour or shape from that shown in the photographs, depending on the time of year or the size of the product. The customer understands and accepts this before making a purchase. We will not accept any request from the customer to return or request a refund on the grounds that the goods are a different colour or shape to those shown in the photographs.
   
   
9. Shipping weight includes the weight of packing materials.

Due to the war of invasion against Ukraine by Russia., some countries are not able to ship products from Japan.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It may be possible for us to handle this matter on an individual basis.

Approximate time from order to shipment.

We employ the least expensive means of preparing shipments in Japan. Therefore, it takes approximately 4-5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) from the time your order is placed to the time it is shipped.

We can send itemss to the following countries and with the following shipping costs.

Every package we ship to you comes with a tracking number. The tracking number will be emailed to you after shipment. 

1) Express Mail Service,  Fastest and Safe. Recommended

EMS, Top priority Mail Service by Air, which is the fastest and registered international mail service. Delivery in  2-3 weeks ( It depends on the postal situation in your area. )  / Tracking / Signature required on delivery / The full value of your order is covered by insurance for damage in case of shipping accidents.( up to 2,000,000JPY) . In this case, "shipping accidents" are those certified as "shipping accidents" by the local post office in your country.

2) Registered Standard Air Mail 

Delivery in  3-4 weeks ( It depends on the postal situation in your area. )   / Tracking number, Slower than Express Mail Service, Compensation for damage in case of shipping accidents up to 6,000 JPY( about 30 USD . In this case, "shipping accidents" are those certified as "shipping accidents" by the local post office in your country.

We do not take any responsibility for any delivery accidents in any shipping methods. Customers are assumed to have understood and agreed to this before placing an order.
