A wonderful ink stick made from the Kobaien’s finest oil smoke; most suitable for blue ink. The sumi ink color is bluish black. One of Kobaien staff's secret favorite because of its very calm shade.
In Japan, there is a building called Shosoin, which was built in the first half of the Nara period (about 700 CE ) to preserve national treasures.
This inkstick was copied from one of the 15 pieces of inksticks in the Shosoin that bears the name of Silla ( 新羅, The name of an ancient kingdom in the southeastern part of the Korean peninsula from 57 B.C. to 935 A.D.).
