Sakuragata — さくら (sakura, cherry blossom) 形 (gata, mold) — is a rapeseed oil-smoke ink that has been made at Kobaien since the company's earliest days, one of the quiet constants passed down through the centuries rather than a recent addition.

Ground dark, it takes on a deep purple tinge; ground light, it settles into a soft, warm brown.
