Chiyomi Tanaka is one of only seven certified Japanese brush artisans in Nara, Japan, and the only woman who was featured by The New York Times Style Magazine.
This special brush was made by Chiyomi Tanaka at the request of the city of Sakurai in Nara Prefecture. The brush handle is made from Yoshino cedar, a specialty of the Yoshino region of Nara Prefecture.

The Yoshino region is registered as a World Heritage site because the entire mountain has been maintained as a sustainable forest resource for 300 years. Yoshino cedar is known worldwide for the beauty of its pattern, and it is also soft and very warm to the touch.
This brush is delivered to the customer in a special box. It is perfect as a gift for someone special.
