Dai Kana Joufuku — 大 (dai, big) 仮名 (kana, letters) 条幅 (joufuku, large-format paper) — is made of 100% wool and nothing else, giving it a remarkably soft touch, by Chiyomi Tanaka, one of only seven certified brush artisans working in Nara today and the only woman among them to be profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine..
Umar Ahmad called it a lovely larger pure-wool brush allowing far more expressive range than stiffer beginner brushes, glad to own a piece of craftsmanship from one of Nara's last master artisans.
Steve Escalante simply praised how smoothly it moved.
