Import Tariffs ( a small import tax ) — What You Need to Know

What is a tariff?

A tariff is a small tax some countries charge on packages from another country. It is not a fee from Kobaien or we,ICHI Inc. — it goes to your own country's government.

Depending on the destination, you may pay it at checkout, or it may already be built into your total — see below for how this works for your country.

Good news for US customers

We now prepay import duties on your behalf before your package ships. The cost is built into your order — not collected by the carrier at your door. You will not be asked for any extra payment when USPS delivers your package.

For orders to most other countries, duties are 0% or very low (see table below), so this is rarely an issue outside the US.

Extra fee to know about

Your delivery company (DHL, UPS, your local post, etc.) may charge a small handling fee to process the package. This is separate from the tariff above.
