General terms and conditions of use of our online store

  1. Purchasing and using our sales products ( inksticks, inks, etc. ) for any purpose other than its original purpose ( Calligraphy and watercolor painting on paper ) is at your own risk. Whatever happens, WE ICHI inc. AND KOBAIEN ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.

  2. All customers are the importer of record in the destination country, you are responsible for: (a) paying for all import fees such as import duties and customs taxes, and (b) ensuring that Products can be lawfully imported, and comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.

  3. We do not take any responsibility for delivery accidents. Customers are assumed to have understood and agreed to this before placing an order.

  4. Every customer is the importer of record in the destination country and the customer is responsible for: (a) ensuring that the goods are imported legally and comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. If necessary, carry out all import-related formalities yourself. (b) paying all import fees, including import duties and customs taxes.

  5. Some countries may not be able to be sent the items listed here (especially liquid ink). Please check your country's import rules when ordering. We will also check when we ship, and if we find products that we cannot ship at that time, we will cancel the entire order once we have found them. Please understand this in advance.

  6. If the recipient does not receive the package and it is returned to us, the buyer can either pay the shipping costs again and have the package shipped again from our office in Japan, or cancel the purchase and only receive the order price excluding shipping costs. In either case, we will charge the customer a refund processing fee based on the purchase price. If we are unable to contact the purchaser after six months, the purchase will be deemed cancelled. In such a case, we will refund the order price excluding shipping costs only when we are contacted. Again, we will charge the customer a refund processing fee corresponding to the purchase price.

  7. The products sold on this online store may be of a different colour or shape from that shown in the photographs, depending on the time of year or the size of the product. The customer understands and accepts this before making a purchase. We will not accept any request from the customer to return or request a refund on the grounds that the goods are a different colour or shape to those shown in the photographs.

Shipping

Due to the war of aggression against Ukraine by Russia., some countries are not able to ship products from Japan.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It may be possible for us to handle this matter on an individual basis.

Approximate time from order to shipment.

We employ the least expensive means of preparing shipments in Japan. Therefore, it takes approximately 4-5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) from the time your order is placed to the time it is shipped.

We can send itemss to the following countries and with the following shipping costs.

1) EMS,  Fastest and Safe. Recommended
( Express Mail Service, Top priority Mail Service by Air, which is the fastest and registered international mail service.
Delivery in  2-3 weeks / Tracking / Signature required on delivery / Compensation ( up to 2,000,000JPY) .

2) International ePacket,  inexpensive, slower than EMS 
( Small items under 1kg can be sent for a cheaper price comparing to EMS (International Express Mail). The items are sent by airmail.

Returns

Only unused and unopened products will be accepted for return. In such cases, the customer is responsible for shipping costs. A return shipping fee of US$10 will be charged. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

To complete your return, please contact us or send us an email - arigato@the-worlds-oldest-inkstick.jp with the subject line “Return” stating the item you would like to return, your order number and reason for making the return.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed via PayPal.
