Aoi — 葵, named after the Alcea plant — is the Hanshi paper Kobaien itself selected as the ideal match for its flagship beginner's ink, Koukaboku.

Made for calligraphy practice, the paper takes ink readily and lets it bleed with real beauty, showing off the tonal range of whatever stick is pulled across it — the sample sheets shown alongside Koukaboku and Soutai reveal exactly how the ink blooms here.

A hundred sheets, chosen by the ink maker itself as ink and paper meant to be used together.
