Product information
Yuko — 幽 (yu, fine, faint) 香 (ko, fragrance) — is made from pine tree oil smoke, a type of ink called ikimatsu.
Its soot particles are coarser than those from oil-smoke inks, so when the colour is lightened, a faint, mysterious bluish tint emerges — a bright, full black at full strength, a gentle, faintly blue black when thinned, said to deepen further with every passing year.
Fatima Alzaabi, using it for her calligraphy, called the flow really something else, remarkably smooth, and found its darkness and matte finish on another level entirely.
