七面鳥筆 (Turkey Feather Brush) — a very, very soft brush made from turkey feather, by Chiyomi Tanaka, one of only seven certified brush artisans working in Nara today and the only woman among them to be profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine..

Its softness is unlike anything drawn from hair alone — a light, feathery touch suited to the gentlest washes and effects, the kind of brush that seems to float across the page rather than press into it.
