Product information

Senmen — 扇 (Sen, fan) 面 (men, face) — belongs to Shitsuboku, the grade held to be the finest of all Kobaien inksticks, made from top-quality canola-oil soot.

Pushed dark, it turns a shining, pure black; thinned, a warm brownish black, equally suited to drawing and calligraphy — a stick that carries its name well, opening across the page the way a fan opens in the hand.
