Hiryu Sho — 飛流 (Hiryu, very strong flow), 小 (Sho, small) — is a mixed-hair brush of wool, horse, and tanuki by Chiyomi Tanaka one of only seven certified brush artisans working in Nara today and the only woman among them to be profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine.
True to its name, it's built for movement that never breaks stride, scaled down into a smaller, more nimble size — a brush carrying enough body to keep a line running unbroken, the way a swift current moves without hesitation, but light enough in the hand for finer, more intimate work.
