Product information

Tsubaki Yuenboku — 椿 (tsubaki, camellia) 油 (yu, oil) 煙 (en, smoke) 墨 (boku, ink) — is the finest grade of camellia-oil soot ink, made from pure camellia oil alone.

It draws exceptionally smoothly across the stone, settling into a deep, pure black at full strength and softening into a purplish-indigo black when thinned — a subtler cousin to the more common rapeseed-oil inks, prized for the quiet violet undertone that surfaces only once the ink is drawn thin.
