Product information

This is an Inkstone whetstone specifically designed for high-end calligraphy inkstones. Please use it with the whetstone surface parallel to the inkstone surface.

Length: 50 mm

Width: 20 mm

Thickness: 20 mm

Weight: 30gram ( 1 piece ) .

Material: Natural mud slate

When paper fibers adhering to ink or brushes stick to and solidify on the inkstone's surface due to the glue in the ink, clogging occurs. This makes it difficult for the ink to produce a clean color.

Soak the inkstone for about an hour and the whetstone for about five minutes beforehand to reduce scratching.

Brown particles will come off the whetstone, but do not rinse them away. Instead, gently rub the whetstone parallel to the surface of the inkstone.

By filling the inkstone with water and carefully polishing it with this whetstone, you can remove deposits from the microscopic protrusions on the inkstone surface, maintaining it in optimal condition.

As the particles of the whetstone break down into finer grains during polishing, they polish the surface of the inkstone. This allows a single stone to function as multiple grades of artificial whetstone.
