Shikatsuno takes its name from the Japanese for deer antler. Handmade by Chiyomi Tanaka, one of only seven certified traditional brush artisans in Nara, Japan, and the only woman among them profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine, it draws on a material rarely seen in brush-making, prized for a springy, textured quality distinct from the softer wools and horsehair more commonly used.
At 310mm overall, with a 51.2mm head and 11.5mm thickness, it's suited to expressive strokes with real character.
As with all Tanaka's brushes, expect small natural variations since each is shaped entirely by hand.
Made from natural animal hair; please check your country's import regulations before ordering.
