Shugetsu — 秋 (Shu, autumn), 月 (Getsu, moon) — is a soft, mixed-hair brush of wool, horse tail, and tanuki by Chiyomi Tanaka, one of only seven certified brush artisans working in Nara today and the only woman among them to be profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine.
Its relatively long tip suits both running script (Gyosho) and block script (Kaisho), carrying the quiet, cool clarity its autumn-moon name suggests.
