Zuiun — 瑞雲, "auspicious cloud" — is a liquid ink made from extremely dried glue and oil smoke, developed through years of research at Kobaien.
Its colour matches that of a solid brownish oil-smoke inkstick, marked by a moderate luster and an elegant depth of tone. Used as a light wash, it expresses beautiful blurring and overlapping — the kind of blooming edge that gives a piece its atmosphere.
Bottled in a generous 500ml size for those working through larger pieces or longer sessions, it's a quietly capable companion for anyone who wants the character of Kobaien's ink without returning to the stone between every stroke.
