Rokujou — 六 (roku, six) 条 (jou, lines) — comes from the hands of Chiyomi Tanaka , one of only seven certified brush artisans working in Nara today, and the only woman among them to be profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine.
This long-tipped mixed-hair brush — wool, horse tail, and tanuki (raccoon dog) — is built for those with real experience behind them, holding its own on exhibition-scale work where control matters as much as flow.
One customer summed it up simply: excellent brush. As with all of her work, no two are quite alike; the slight variation in length and weight is the mark of a hand still doing this by hand.
