This isn't a Kobaien product, but it's the kind of small studio companion that earns its place on the desk anyway: a cat-shaped ceramic brush holder, sized to cradle a brush's belly while the tip dries after grinding and painting.

At 102mm long, 45mm wide, 30mm thick, and just 100 grams, it's compact enough to tuck beside an inkstone without crowding the workspace, and it comes in black, white, or jade green, so it's easy to match to whatever else sits on your painting table.

Brushes aren't included, but that's really the point — this is a resting place, not a tool, meant to keep a wet brush's shape intact between strokes rather than letting it dry flat against a surface or roll off the desk.

For anyone who's built up a small collection of Nara brushes and Kobaien inksticks, a little ceramic cat is an easy, affordable way to add some personality to the ritual of grinding and painting, without asking anything more of it than to sit quietly and hold a brush in place.
