歙州 ( Kyushu, Names of old Chinese provinces)
眉子紋 ( Bishimon, A pattern resembling human eyebrows )
硯(Ken, Inkstone )

Kyushu ( Kyuju )  was the name of a province that existed in ancient China, and alongside Tankei, it was a source of high-quality slate used as raw material for inkstones.

We, iCHI Inc. has obtained limited sales permission for this inkstone, acquired by Kobaien decades ago, for only 10 pieces.

The defining characteristic of this inkstone is its greater hardness compared to the Tankei inkstone, with a surface that is dense and rough like shark skin. It is also suitable for hard inksticks such as Shōen ( Pine soot )  inkstick.

Bishimon is the name of this inkstone's pattern. Its defining feature is the appearance of numerous patterns resembling human eyebrows (Bhishimon) on the stone's surface. Its beautiful stone patterns also give it high ornamental value.

It also makes an excellent gift. A beautiful dedicated wooden box is also included.
This inkstone can also be used for portable purposes. Inkstones of this size made from Kyushu  Bishimon stone are not manufactured even in China anymore.
