Kenmo Shou Kana Joufuku — 兼毛 (kenmo, mixed hair) 小 (shou, small) 仮名 (kana, letters) 条幅 (joufuku, large-format paper) — blends wool with slightly stiff bristles, made by Chiyomi Tanaka, one of only seven certified brush artisans working in Nara today and the only woman among them to be profiled by The New York Times Style Magazine..
Built for writing flowing kana script across large-format paper, its gentle stiffness gives the hand just enough resistance to keep a long, connected line steady from the first stroke to the last.
