Gen — 玄, deep and dark — is finished here in a purple-blue described as the finest tone this ink takes: a good stretch under the brush, light in the hand, and resistant to wrinkling even once dry.

Mixed to a standard density, it needs no adjustment before use, and even in its palest washes, overlapping brushstrokes remain beautifully distinct from one another.

One customer praised how little it interfered with the fluidity of the brush, prizing its fragrance and its staying power.
