Product information

The special papers mixed with some earth soils.

According to a manager of Kobaien headquarters, one day in autumn 2021, he found some interesting wrapping papers which covered about 200 years ( Edo period ) old ink stick in their storage.

He had never seen a paper like that so he brought it to a laboratory in a university. The professor there then suggested that he should go and meet an old traditional paper manufacturer in some place in the Kansai region.

He went there. Then the grandson of the paper manufacturer family showed him this special paper in their old storage, which now they have lost the manufacturing method. He sent the paper sample to a professional calligrapher who liked it very much and made some good calligraphy artworks.

This paper is one of the only ones sold exclusively in the world by Kobaien. It is very suitable for calligraphy.

*The white paper under the Earth paper in the photo is ordinary copy paper. It is placed for color comparison. It is not included in the items for sale.

*Although there's "gold" or "silver" in the product name, it does not mean that the product contains actual gold or silver.

*Weight ( 200g / 1pc )  includes wrapping material.

if you paint with the technique of reducing the flow of water, it is a very good rice paper.

Paper characteristics are elastic and tough, but it is not conducive to water tray techniques (Ebru art), because the amount of water will lead to the reaction of paper characteristics, making it wrinkled a bit. However, if you paint with the technique of reducing the flow of water, it is a very good rice paper.

紙質特性具彈性,韌性強,但不利於水托技法,因水量多會引起紙質特性的反應,使其有皺起的情況出現。但如以減低水流動的技巧來繪畫,是一張很優質的宣紙。

We are also very happy. Thank you very much!

Very suitable for use in the brush technique in the fine line, outline technique, etc.,

1. The surface of the paper attribute, the texture is very smooth, very suitable for use in the brush technique in the fine line, outline technique, etc., such as the Japanese painter Takeuchi Qifeng たけうち せいほう of the work category. (Sword orchid of the author of the picture).

2. Paper characteristics have elasticity, strong toughness, and suitable for the Lingnan School of painting method of hitting water and hitting powder. (See Lingnan landscape painting with pictures).

3.The soil paper itself has a history of nearly 200 years of preciousness, and its unique colour adds to the classical beauty of landscape painting!
